Provo Canyon School – Elementary Program

Provo Canyon School offers therapeutic and academic services to boys and girls ages eight (8) through thirteen (13). Our specific focus is to address the treatment needs and supports of children struggling with emotional challenges, trauma, anxiety, impulsivity, and learning disorders associated with attention and concentration. Many of our students manifest emotional instability, oppositional de ant behaviors and an inability to regulate their mood or form effective relationships with care givers. These behaviors have impacted their ability to function well in the school, home, and other social environments.

Provo Canyon School is one of only a handful of residential treatment programs in the United States to offer a comprehensive treatment for children challenged with severe emotional disorders. Our therapeutic approach teaches students to regulate their emotions, establish effective relationships, develop problem solving skills and improve their overall quality of life. We provide professional staff specifically trained in addressing the needs of our student combined with sound treatment approaches which include:

  • Trauma Focused CBT
  • Family Therapy (Relationship Skill Focus)
  • Dialectic Behavioral—Concepts and Skills
  • Effective Therapeutic / School Culture
  • Neuro and Biofeedback Treatment
  • Play Therapy
  • Stages of Change
  • Experiential & Recreational Therapy
