Provo Canyon School to the Rescue! |

As many know, the day-to-day work at AIS is completed by a small staff of 7 female employees. Because of our small numbers, AIS relies heavily on volunteers during large events and functions. When these volunteers happen to be young men who can lift heavy things and work long hours, the all-female staff at the AIS office celebrates. Provo Canyon School, a center full of such young men, has been making AIS cheer since they came to the rescue several years ago. Hurricane Katrina Relief Fundraiser |
| |
Over the past year, students and staff have participated in a variety of projects which truly
embody the value of service. Most recently the staff and students of PCS were able to raise
over $5,700 which was given to a shelter for victims of Hurricane Katrina. Read more... |

The Art Program at Provo Canyon School |

The art program at Provo Canyon School offers a broad exposure to the discipline. The subjects
taught include Ceramics, Sculpture, Drawing, Painting, Art Foundations 1 and 2, Commercial Art
and Design, and Interior Design. The program is based on a focus of art production with emphasis
on Discipline Based Art Education. This includes Art History, Art Aesthetics, and Art Criticism,

The youth are Provo Canyon Schools greatest asset. Provo Canyon School operates independent boys and girls programs on separate campuses with opportunities for supervised interaction. Students come from many states throughout the nation and are composed of a mixed ethnic group of youth of ages 14-17. The pre-adolescent program lives on its own campus and operates a separate program for both boys and girls ages 11-13. Provo Canyon School youth are average to bright individuals capable of functioning in a normal social environment but because of learning disabilities and psychological and behavioral problems have not succeeded in their home environments.
